Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Olga Palevich #5357 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish with accelerating final kilometre Olga covered 5.0 km in 26:57, averaging 5:23/km at Run The Wharfs evening closed-road 5K in Canary Wharf. She placed 47th in the female 3640 category, 492nd female, and 1,746th overall out of 5,624 participants. Her pacing was steady through 4 km, then sharpened well late. Kilometre splits were 5:27, 5:32, 5:33, 5:25, and 5:03. That final kilometre was 30 seconds quicker than her opening kilometre and her fastest of the race by a clear margin. She also moved up from 60th to 47th in her age group by 3 km, holding that position to the finish. From a coaching perspective, this shows good control early and strong closing speed; a slightly earlier push, around 34 km, could help bring the overall time down further.
