The strongest section came from 3 km to 4 km, where he produced his quickest split at 4:12/km and had already moved up to 20th in his age group by 3 km, holding that position to the finish. That consistency suits a fast evening 5K like Run The Wharf. As a coaching note, a slightly sharper opening kilometre could help him gain a few more places earlier without disrupting the steady rhythm he held across the race.
