In a large evening field through Canary Wharf, that put him in roughly the top 13% overall. His opening 3km was steady at 4:34, 4:31, and 4:39/km, then he finished strongly with 4:26 and 4:25/km. That closing 2km was 8:51, compared with 9:05 for the first 2km, a 14-second negative split. He also improved from 871st at 1km to 725th at the finish, gaining 146 places overall. A useful next step would be aiming for a slightly quicker third kilometre to match the strength of his finish.
