Fast Start, Steady 5K, Strong Closing Kilometre Kendall ran 5.00 km in 23:28, averaging 4:41/km. She placed 918th of 5,624 overall, 189th female, and 62nd in the female 2630 division. Her quickest kilometre was the first in 4:35, and she finished well with a final kilometre of 4:39 after the middle section sat at 4:47 and 4:48. The pacing pattern was controlled overall: 4:35, 4:40, 4:47, 4:48, then back to 4:39. That late response is a useful positive from this run, especially in a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. As a coaching note, the main gain would come from holding the early pace a little longer through kilometres 3 and 4, which could bring the overall average closer to the opening rhythm.
