Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ellie Gargan #2111 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Steady 5K Execution Ellie Gargan ran 5.00 km in 26:46, averaging 5:21/km at 2026 Run The Wharf in London. She finished 88th in the Female 3135 division and inside the top 31% overall (1,695 of 5,624). In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, she paired a controlled start with a strong closing kilometre. Her pacing was consistent across the first 4 km: 5:22, 5:23, 5:27, and 5:29/km, then she finished with her quickest kilometre at 5:07/km. That final push was 22 seconds faster than her opening kilometre and brought her division place up from 90th at 4 km to 88th at the line. A useful next step would be aiming to bring kilometre 3 and 4 a little closer to her opening pace, which could unlock a quicker overall time.
