Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Sophie Oj #1987 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Start, Steady Finish for a Well-Paced 5K Sophie completed the 5K in 27:39, averaging 5:31/km. She opened with her quickest kilometre in 5:17, then settled into a consistent middle section of 5:39, 5:39, and 5:36 before closing strongly in 5:29. That gave her just 22 seconds between her fastest and slowest full kilometres, a solid sign of control across the distance. She finished 1,921st of 5,624 overall, placing in roughly the top 34% of the field, and 565th among women. Her position improved through 4km before a small drop in the final standings, despite that late pickup. As a coachs note: the even pacing after the fast first kilometre worked well, and a slightly more measured opening could help preserve a stronger finish next time on this quick Canary Wharf evening course.
