Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alan Lonergan #7878 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast 5K with a Strong Closing 3K Alan ran 5.00 km in 20:07, averaging 4:01/km. He finished 340th of 5,624 overall, placing in the top 6.1% of the field, and was 188th male. In the male 2630 division, he placed 64th. On a big evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that is a solid result in a deep field. His opening kilometre was quick at 4:01, followed by a slower second kilometre at 6:48. He then responded well, covering kilometres 3 and 4 in 2:43 and closing the final kilometre in 3:53. That strong second half moved him from 383rd at 1 km to 340th at the finish, gaining 43 places overall. The main opportunity is consistency through the middle of the race, as the closing kilometres showed he had strong pace available late.
