Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alex Walker #7854 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish with Consistent 5K Pacing Alex ran 5.00 km in 27:01, averaging 5:24/km at Run The Wharf in London. In a field of 5,624, he placed 303rd in the Male 2630 division. His pacing stayed tight across the race: 5:17, 5:25, 5:37, 5:29, and 5:15 per km, with just 22 seconds between his fastest and slowest kilometres. The standout stat was the finish: his final kilometre was his quickest at 5:15/km, faster than his opening kilometre by 2 seconds and 22 seconds faster than kilometre 3. That closing speed suggests good control and a strong end to an evening 5K known for its fast closed-road setting through Canary Wharf. For the next race, aiming to smooth out the middle section could help turn that late strength into a faster overall time.
