Fast 5K with steady sub-3:55/km pacing Ross ran 5.00 km in 19:15, averaging 3:51/km. He finished 226th of 5,624, placing 110th male and 36th in the M26-30 division. In a large evening field at Run The Wharfs closed-road Canary Wharf 5K, that is a strong top-4% overall result. His opening kilometre was the quickest at 3:44, followed by 3:50, 3:58, 3:53 and 3:52. That gave him a very tight 14-second spread across all 5 kilometres, with kilometres 2, 4 and 5 especially consistent. He moved up to 218th by 4 km before giving back a few places late. As a coaching note, slightly more restraint in the first kilometre may help him hold position deeper into the final kilometre while keeping this strong overall pace.
