Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Robert Hughes #2530 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Finish and Steady 5K Pacing Robert ran 5.0km in 27:12, averaging 5:26/km. He placed 212th in the Male 3135 division and finished ahead of a large share of the 5,624 runners overall. His pacing was controlled across the race: 5:44, 5:17, 5:28, 5:34, then a fastest final kilometre of 5:11. The standout stat was the close middle section from 2km to 4km, where he held between 5:17/km and 5:34/km, then closed 23 seconds quicker than his opening kilometre. That finish shows good reserve late in the race. For future 5Ks, aiming to bring the first kilometre a little closer to overall pace could help unlock a faster total time on a quick evening course through Canary Wharf.
