Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Owen Glithro #592 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong negative split and fast closing kilometre Owen ran 5.00 km in 22:01, averaging 4:24/km. He finished 54th of 3640 men and placed inside the top 12% overall (622 of 5,624). His pacing improved each kilometre: 4:43, 4:38, 4:30, 4:14, then 3:57 for the final km. That progression is the standout stat. He cut 46 seconds from first kilometre to last and moved from 1,068th overall at 1 km to 622nd at the finish, gaining 446 places. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that finishing speed shows strong control early and plenty left late. As a coaching note, a slightly quicker opening kilometre could bring the overall time down further while keeping this strong finish.
