Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Diego Luiz #6702 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Start, Strong Finish for a Sub-20 5K Diego ran 5.00 km in 19:30, averaging 3:54/km. In a field of 5,624, he placed 14th in the M36-40 division. His opening 2 km was especially sharp: 3:45, then 3:52, reaching 2 km in 7:37 and holding 3:48/km through that point. The middle of the race eased slightly with 4:01 and 4:05 for km 3-4, before he closed well in 3:48 for the final kilometre. That rebound shows good finishing speed and helped bring his average back under 3:55/km. For future races, aiming to keep km 3-4 closer to his early pace would likely trim more time. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suited a fast effort, and he made the most of it.
