Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Graham Gooden #2113 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Start, Strong Finish, Steady 5K Graham ran 5.00 km in 23:50, averaging 4:46/km. He opened quickly with a 4:40 first kilometre, then held a very consistent middle section: 4:52, 4:52, and 4:50/km across kilometres 24. He closed with his fastest kilometre of the race at 4:39/km, a strong finish after steady pacing. He placed 1010th of 5624 overall, which puts him in the top 18% of the field, and 190th in the male 2630 division. His position improved from 1112th at 1 km to 998th by 3 km and held there through 4 km before a slight drop late. For a closed-road evening 5K in Canary Wharf, that finishing speed stands out. As a next step, aiming to hold the opening pace deeper into the middle kilometres could trim more time.
