Fast Opening 2K Set Up a Solid 5K Finish Jordan completed the 5K in 31:52, averaging 6:22/km across 5.00 km. His strongest section came early: 1K in 5:06, followed by 2K reached in 10:43 at 5:21/km average pace. Through 3K, he was still on 17:16, with a 5:45/km overall average. In a field of 5,624, he finished 422nd in the Male 2630 division. The key stat is the difference between the opening 1K (5:06) and the later kilometres, which moved to 5:37, 6:34, 7:31 and 7:06. That suggests the early pace was ambitious relative to the finish pace. A more even effort over the first 2K could help him hold closer to his early rhythm deeper into the race. At an event known for its fast evening city-centre route, that opening speed shows good basic 5K potential.
