Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: William Jeffries #2555 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Opening Kilometre Set Up a Solid 5K William ran 5.00 km in 27:49, averaging 5:33/km. His quickest kilometre came first at 5:12, and he reached 2 km in 10:44 before settling into 5:44 and 5:47 for km 3 and 4. He closed the final kilometre in 5:36, a good response after the slowest patch mid-race. He finished 1,958th of 5,624 overall, placing in the top 35% of the field. This was a positive evening run on the closed roads of Canary Wharf, with a strong start and a tidy late rebound. The main performance trend was a 35-second gap between the fastest and slowest kilometres, so the next step is to hold km 2-4 a little closer to the opening pace. A more even effort there could bring the overall average down further.
