Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Mickey Zarev #863 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Top-10 Age-Group Result Mickey covered 5.00 km in 23:09, averaging 4:37/km. He placed 8th in the Male 55+ division, 551st male, and 854th overall out of 5,624 runners. That age-group result stands out most, especially in a large evening 5K field through Canary Wharf. His pacing was steady across each kilometre: 4:31, 4:47, 4:46, 4:40, then a quickest closing kilometre of 4:26. After the opening 1 km, he settled well and finished strongly, gaining places late to move from 9th back to 8th in the division. From a coaching perspective, the closing speed suggests he had a little more available earlier, so a slightly more even middle section could bring the overall time down further.
