Fast Finish Lifts Overall 5K Pace Cynthia ran 5.00 km in 27:04, averaging 5:24/km. She finished 1,775th of 5,624 overall, placing her in roughly the top 32% of the field. Among women, she was 504th, and 96th in the female 3135 division. In an evening 5K built for quick running through Canary Wharf, her strongest stat was the closing kilometre. Her splits were 5:23, 5:30, 5:39, 5:25, and 5:09. After a gradual slowdown through 3 km, she responded well with a 14-second improvement in kilometre 4, then closed with her fastest kilometre of the race. That final km was 30 seconds quicker than km 3. As a coachs note: the finishing speed suggests she had more to use earlier, so a steadier middle section could bring the overall time down further.
