Fast Start, Steady 5K Execution Richard ran 5.00 km in 24:19, averaging 4:51/km. He placed 29th in the Male 5155 division and finished ahead of a large share of the 5,624-runner field. His opening kilometre was his quickest at 4:36, and he reached 3 km in 14:23 at 4:47/km average. From there, pacing stayed controlled with splits of 4:59 and 4:58 to close. The spread from fastest to slowest kilometre was just 23 seconds, showing solid consistency after the quick start. As a coaching note, a slightly more even first kilometre could help him hold closer to 4:50/km throughout. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a well-managed run with a strong early position in his age group.
