Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alex Jeffcoate #3394 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K
Even pacing with a strong final kilometre Alex covered 5.00 km in 29:18, averaging 5:51/km. He placed 191st in the Male 3640 division and finished ahead of roughly 59% of the field (2299 of 5624). In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, his pacing stayed controlled across the full distance. His kilometre splits were 5:48, 5:51, 6:04, 5:53, and 5:45. That closing kilometre was his quickest, a good sign of finishing strength. The main slowdown came in kilometre 3, but he settled back to sub-5:55/km immediately after. As a coachs note: trimming that mid-race dip could bring the overall average closer to his finishing pace.
