In a field of 5,624, he placed 88th in the Male 4650 division. His pacing stayed controlled across the distance: 5:45, 5:50, 6:05, 5:59, then a fastest closing kilometre of 5:42. That finish is the standout stat: after a small slowdown through kilometres 3 and 4, he regained speed well in the last kilometre. He also improved his division position from 92nd at 1 km to 82nd by 3 km before finishing 88th. A useful next step would be aiming to hold the early rhythm a little longer through the middle kilometres, which could bring the overall average closer to his opening and closing pace.
