Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Christian Haysom #2504 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Quick Opening 2K, Then Settled Into a Steady Finish He completed the 5K in 30:12, averaging 6:02/km. His quickest section came early: 1km in 5:44, followed by 2km in 11:30 total at 5:45/km. Through 3km he was still under 6:00/km overall at 5:55/km, before closing with two matching 6:14 kilometres. He finished 2,485th of 5,624, placing in the top half of the field. This was a solid early start on a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. The main coaching note is pacing: the first 2km were notably quicker than the final 2km, with about a 30-second gap per kilometre between his fastest and slowest splits. A slightly more even effort from 2km onward could help him hold sub-6:00/km deeper into the race.
