Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ashley Wood #3043 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Start, Strong Finish, Mid-Race Fade Ashley covered 5.00 km in 22:27, averaging 4:29/km. He finished 697th of 5,624, placing 442nd among men and 82nd in the M3135 division. That puts him well inside the top 13% overall. In an event built for quick evening running through Canary Wharf, his closing position improved notably after the final kilometre. His pacing showed a clear pattern: 4:18, 4:22, 4:32, 5:02, then 4:15 for the last kilometre. The fastest segment came at the end, which is a strong sign of finishing speed. The main opportunity is the drop across kilometres 34, where pace shifted by 30 seconds. With a steadier middle section, he could convert that strong finish into a lower overall time next time out.
