Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Charlie Search #1467 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Opening Kilometres Set Up a Strong 5K Charlie ran 5.00 km in 22:36, averaging 4:31/km. She finished 139th female out of a field of 5,624 overall, with a particularly sharp start: 4:01 for the first kilometre, then her quickest split of 3:41/km in kilometre 2. Through 2 km she was as high as 16th female and 8th in her age group. The key stat is the contrast between the first 2 km (7:42 total, 3:51/km) and the final 3 km (14:54 total, 4:58/km). Kilometres 3-5 came in 4:26, 4:51, and 5:38, showing the early pace was ambitious relative to the finish. For the next 5K, aiming to hold the first 2 km a little closer to overall race pace could help sustain speed deeper into the run on this fast Canary Wharf evening course.
