Quick opening kilometre set up a steady 5K finish Shauna completed the 5K in 36:43, averaging 7:20/km across 5.00 km. She opened strongly with a fastest first kilometre of 6:36, then settled into 7:26, 7:52, 7:34 and 7:18. Her closing kilometre was her second-fastest, a good sign of control late in the run. She finished 324th in the female 3135 division and was inside the top 63% overall in a field of 5,624. The clearest coaching point is pacing: the gap between the first and third kilometres was 1:16, so a slightly more even start could help preserve momentum through the middle. Finishing faster over the final kilometre suggests she had more to use late, which is encouraging for future 5Ks like this fast evening Canary Wharf course.
