Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Mahmoud Abubaker #6163 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Quick Opening 2K, Then a Mid-Race Fade Mahmoud completed this 5K in 34:28, averaging 6:54/km. He placed 3247th of 5624 overall, 1680th among men, and 462nd in the M26-30 division. His strongest section was the opening 2K: 6:44/km for both the first and second kilometres, improving his overall position from 3256th to 2993rd. The key trend was a slowdown after 2K. Kilometre 3 dropped to 9:12/km, and kilometre 4 to 10:27/km before a quicker finish to the line. That early pacing shows he had solid opening speed, especially in a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. For the next race, a steadier effort after 2K would likely help him hold position deeper into the run and bring down the overall time.
