Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Malak Ahmed #1588 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Final Kilometre Lifted a Steady 5K Malak ran 5.0 km in 27:57, averaging 5:35/km. He placed 2001st of 5624 overall, which puts him in the top 36% of the field, and 340th in the Male 2630 division. In a large evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that is a solid result with a strong closing section. His pacing was consistent early: 5:29, 5:33, then 5:48/km through 3 km. The 4th km dipped slightly to 5:55, but he responded well with his quickest kilometre at 5:13 to finish. That late surge was 42 seconds faster than km 4 and 22 seconds faster than his opening kilometre. As a coachs note, holding a little more of that final-kilometre rhythm in km 34 could bring his overall time down further.
