Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Jesus Sanchez #1 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast 5K with a Division Win and Strong Finish Jesus ran 5.00 km in 16:00, averaging 3:12/km. He placed 37th overall out of 5,624, 5th male, and 1st in the mens 3640 division. That combination stands out: top 1% overall and a category win. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, he stayed near the front throughout. His pacing was consistent across each kilometre: 3:06, 3:13, 3:15, 3:20, then a strong closing 3:08. After the opening kilometre, he limited the slowdown to 14 seconds through 4 km, then finished with the quickest split since the start. From a coaching view, the key positive is the rebound over the final kilometre. To sharpen this further, aim to hold the 24 km section a little closer to the early pace.
