Even pacing and a strong final kilometre for a sub-20 5K Riccardo ran 20:00 for 5.00 km, averaging 4:00/km. He finished 330th of 5,624, placing him in roughly the top 6% overall. Among men, he was 180th, and he placed 61st in the male 2630 division. In a large evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that is a solid result backed by very steady pacing. His kilometre splits were 3:58, 3:59, 4:03, 4:04, and 3:57. That spread of just 7 seconds from fastest to slowest shows strong control. After a slight dip through kilometres 34, he closed with his quickest final kilometre, which is a good sign of strength and judgement. As a coachs note, smoothing out that small mid-race slowdown could turn a 20:00 into a sub-20 on a similar course.
