Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Georgia Cave #1886 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong finish lifts a steady 5K Georgia ran 5.00 km in 27:38, averaging 5:31/km. She placed 1,915th of 5,624 overall, 562nd female, and 114th in the female 3135 division. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, she opened with her quickest full kilometre at 5:19, then held 5:39 and 5:37 across km 23. The key stat was the finish: after a 5:48 fourth kilometre, she closed with her fastest late-race split at 5:16 for km 5. That brought her average pace back down to 5:31/km. The pacing profile shows a solid start, a small dip through the middle, and a very strong closing kilometre. As a coaching note, smoothing out km 24 to stay closer to her opening pace would likely trim more time in future 5Ks.
