Steady 5K With Excellent Pace Control Edward ran 5.00 km in 24:24, averaging 4:52/km. He finished 1,140th of 5,624 overall, placing him in roughly the top 20% of the field. In the Canary Wharf evening 5K, that consistent pacing stood out. His splits were tightly grouped: 4:50, 4:53, 4:54, 4:54, and 4:53 per km, a spread of just 4 seconds across the full race. He moved up well early, from 1,184th at 1 km to 1,036th at 2 km, then held a very even rhythm through 4 km before a small drop late. As a coachs note, this is a strong pacing model; the next step is to see if that controlled opening kilometre can be matched with a slightly stronger final kilometre.
