Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Matias Ferro #4498 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Strong Top-2% Result Matias ran 5.00 km in 17:54, averaging 3:34/km. He placed 107th of 5,624 overall, 29th male, and 9th in the M3135 division. That puts him in roughly the top 2% of the field overall. In an evening Canary Wharf 5K built for quick running, this was a very efficient performance. His pacing was notably steady through 4 km: 3:34, 3:36, 3:35, then 3:42/km, before a sharp final kilometre of 3:29/km. He moved up from 154th at 1 km to 107th at the finish, gaining 47 places across the race. The closing kilometre was his quickest, which suggests good control early on. As a coaching note, trimming the small dip at 4 km could make the overall pacing even smoother next time.
