Steady 5K with a strong early rhythm and solid finish Cesca ran 5.00 km in 30:07, averaging 6:01/km. She placed 2469th of 5624 overall, 870th female, and 275th in the female 2630 division. Her fastest kilometre was km 2 in 5:40, following a 5:49 opening kilometre. Through 2 km, she had worked up to 2249th overall. The middle section was slower, with km 3 at 6:38 and km 4 at 6:11, before she finished with a quicker 5:52 final kilometre. That rebound over the last kilometre is a good sign of control late in the run. As a coachs note, holding the km 12 rhythm deeper into the race would bring the overall time down. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suited a fast start, and she showed that early speed well.
