Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Travis Owles #6179 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast 5K with Strong Closing Position Gains Travis ran 5.00 km in 16:45, averaging 3:21/km. He finished 54th overall out of 5,624, 8th male, and 3rd in the male 2630 category. That combination of time and category result stands out, especially in a large field on a quick evening Canary Wharf course built around Friday Night Lights social race format. His pacing was controlled: 3:16, 3:23, 3:26, 3:20, and 3:22 per km. After the quick opening kilometre, he settled well and finished the final 2 km in 6:42, slightly faster than kilometres 23 combined at 6:49. He also improved from 62nd overall at 1 km to 54th at the finish. For future races, keeping the first kilometre a touch closer to overall pace could help smooth the middle section while preserving the same strong finish.
