Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Andy Blackwell #6426 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong Start, Fast Finish for a Sub-5:15/km 5K Andy ran 5.00 km in 26:07, averaging 5:13/km. He finished 1,550th of 5,624, placing inside the top 28% overall. In the mens field, he was 986th, and 280th in the male 2630 division. His opening kilometre was his quickest early marker at 4:58, and he closed especially well with a 4:51 final kilometre, his fastest of the race. The middle of the race drifted from 5:09/km in kilometre 2 to 5:40/km in kilometre 3 and 5:32/km in kilometre 4 before that strong finish. That late rebound is a useful positive on a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. As a coachs note: holding kilometre 2 pace more steadily through the middle would likely move the overall time down meaningfully.
