Fast Opening and Strong Closing for a Sub-25 5K Brett ran 5.00 km in 24:19, averaging 4:51/km. He placed 1128th of 5624, putting him in roughly the top 20% overall, and 99th in the Male 3640 division. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, he opened well with 4:45 for the first kilometre and matched that pace again in the final kilometre. His pacing showed a clear pattern: 4:45, 4:50, 5:04, 4:58, 4:45. The middle section cost some time, but the rebound over the last 2 km was a positive sign and suggests good finishing strength. As a coachs note, smoothing out kilometres 3 and 4 could move his average pace closer to the early and late-race level, which would make this an even stronger overall 5K.
