Fast 5K with Excellent Pace Control and a Strong Finish Josh Geddes ran 5.00 km in 15:17, averaging 3:03/km. He finished 21st overall out of 5,624 and 2nd male, a standout placing in a very large field. His opening kilometre was quickest at 2:55, and he reached 2 km in 6:02 before settling into a very steady rhythm. From 2 km to the finish, his kilometre splits were 3:07, 3:06, 3:08 and 3:03. That consistency is a strong marker: just five seconds covered the final four full kilometres, and he closed with his fastest split since the start. In a fast evening 5K at Canary Wharf, that kind of control is a real asset. As a coaching note, there may be a small opportunity to smooth the gap between the opening kilometre and the middle section while keeping that late finishing speed.
