Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Zain Abu El Afieh #6413 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Quick Start, Strong Finish, Mid-Race Fade Zain covered 5.00 km in 30:08, averaging 6:01/km. She placed 175th in the female 1825 category and finished in the top 45% overall (2475 of 5624). Her fastest kilometre was km 2 in 5:42, and she closed well with 5:49 for km 5 after running 6:36 and 6:16 through km 34. The opening 2 km were her strongest segment, reached in 11:28 at 5:44/km average. The main time loss came in the middle 2 km, where pace drifted to 6:26/km across km 34 before recovering late. That rebound is a useful positive. For future 5Ks, aim to hold the first-half rhythm more evenly through the middle section. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suited a quick opening here, and the finish showed good composure.
