Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Niraj Sharma #6403 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast 2nd Kilometre Set Up a Solid 5K Finish Niraj completed this 5K in 29:41, averaging 5:56/km. He placed 261st of 3135 men and finished ahead of a large portion of the 5,624-runner field. His quickest kilometre was km 2 in 4:27, a sharp move that brought his average pace down to 5:36/km through 2 km. The pacing was uneven early, with 6:45 for the opening kilometre, then a big surge before settling into 6:12, 6:16 and 6:02 for the final 3 km. That closing kilometre was stronger than km 3 and km 4, which is a useful positive. As a coachs note, a more even effort after the fast second kilometre could help him hold position deeper into the race. Run The Wharfs closed-road evening format suits quick, rhythm-based running, and he showed that especially well in the middle of the race.
