Top-10 age-group finish with a fast opening kilometre Simon ran 5.00 km in 23:23, averaging 4:40/km. He placed 10th in the Male 55+ division and finished inside the top 16% overall (898th of 5,624), a strong result in a large evening 5K field. His fastest kilometre was the first in 4:28, and he reached 2 km in 9:10. The pacing trend was controlled after that quick start: 4:42, 4:46, 4:47, then a solid 4:42 final kilometre. He held his age-group position well, sitting as high as 7th through 2 km before finishing 10th. From a coaching perspective, the key stat is the 19-second gap between the first and fourth kilometres; a slightly more even first 3 km could help preserve a little more late-race position next time.
