Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: James Mewis #6334 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Opening Kilometre, Strong Finish to Secure Top-25 Age-Group Result James completed the 5K in 23:47, averaging 4:45/km for the full distance. He placed 24th in the Male 5155 category and finished ahead of most of the 5,624-runner field, an encouraging age-group result. In a fast evening race through Canary Wharf, he also represented Bank of America N.A. London Branch. His pacing showed a clear pattern: 4:37 for the first kilometre, then 4:47, 4:48 and 4:54 through the middle section before closing in 4:42. That final kilometre was his second quickest, which is a strong sign of finishing speed. From a coaching view, the main opportunity is to smooth the gap between the quick opening kilometre and the middle of the race; a slightly more even first 3 km could help convert that strong finish into a faster overall time.
