Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ben Atwell #6211 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Strong Top-3% Result Ben ran 5.00 km in 18:25, averaging 3:41/km. He placed 143rd of 5,624 overall, putting him in roughly the top 2.5% of the field, and 48th male. In the mens 2630 division, he finished 14th. For a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that is a very solid result. His pacing was well controlled after the opening kilometre: 3:49, 3:39, 3:44, 3:46, then a fastest final kilometre of 3:28. He moved up from 235th at 1 km to 143rd at the finish, gaining 92 places overall, including 20 places from 4 km to the line alone. That closing speed stands out. As a coachs note, opening a few seconds closer to goal pace could set up an even faster overall time while keeping this strong finish.
