Strong finish and steady sub-3:50/km pacing Josh ran 5.00 km in 19:00, averaging 3:48/km. He finished 195th of 5,624 overall, placing him in roughly the top 3.5% of the field, and 85th male. In the Male 2630 division, he was 26th. At a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, that is a solid return over the full distance. His opening kilometre was quickest at 3:40, then he settled into 3:54 and 3:56 before tightening back up with 3:50 and a strong final kilometre in 3:43. That closing km gained seven overall places and three division spots, a good sign of control late in the race. The main opportunity is the middle section: holding a little closer to opening pace from 24 km could move the overall time down further.
