Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Lucas Lawman #6191 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Strong 5K with a Fast Closing Kilometre Lucas ran 5.00 km in 18:13, averaging 3:38/km. He finished 129th of 5,624, placing 37th among men and 9th in the mens 1825 division. That puts him in roughly the top 2.3% overall. In a large Friday-evening Canary Wharf field, that is a very competitive result. His pacing was steady across the full distance: 3:32, 3:36, 3:44, 3:49, then 3:34 for the final kilometre. After a small mid-race slowdown through kilometres 34, he closed with his second-fastest split and gained places late, moving from 39th to 37th among men. That finishing speed is a clear positive. For an even quicker 5K next time, the main target is holding kilometres 3 and 4 a little closer to opening pace.
