Even pacing and a strong closing kilometre Katie ran 5.00 km in 21:05, averaging 4:13/km. She finished 61st female out of a large field of 5,624, and 23rd in the female 2630 division. Her opening 2 km were very steady at 4:08/km for both kilometres, reaching 2 km in 8:16. From there, she covered km 3 and 4 in 4:20 and 4:21 before finishing with a quicker 4:10 final kilometre. That late rebound stands out and shows good control after the mid-race slowdown. In a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf, this was a solid, well-managed run. As a coachs note, holding the 4:08/km rhythm a little deeper into the race could move the overall time closer to the low-21 or sub-21 range.
