Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Ashley Benton #6257 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Steady 5K with a Fast Opening Kilometre Ashley ran 5.00 km in 22:44, averaging 4:32/km. He finished 761st of 5,624 overall, placing him in roughly the top 14% of the field. In the mens standings, he was 484th, and 151st in the Male 2630 category. Representing Zopa Bank, he delivered a controlled effort at a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. His pacing was consistent: 4:29, 4:31, 4:38, 4:34, and 4:34 per km. The first 2 km were especially sharp at 8:59 combined, and after the slight dip in kilometre 3, he settled back into 4:34/km pace for the final 2 km. That ability to regain rhythm is a good sign. A useful next step would be aiming to hold the 4:294:31/km range a little deeper into the race.
