Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Kitty Mccarthy #4184 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast Finish and Steady 5K Execution Kitty ran 5.00 km in 24:37, averaging 4:55/km. She placed 262nd overall among women and 93rd in the womens 2630 division, finishing 1185th out of 5624. A notable stat: she beat all male runners she was tracking (0 beat her), backing up the Beat The Boys team result. Her pacing was controlled across the full distance: 4:57, 4:52, 5:04, 4:58, and 4:48/km. After moving up well through 2 km, she held position through 4 km and closed with her quickest kilometre. That finishing speed is a strong positive on a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. The main opportunity is in the third kilometre, which was the slowest; smoothing that section could help turn a solid run into an even quicker result.
