Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Jazz Saunders #4179 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf 5K

Fast 5K with a Strong Closing Kilometre Jazz ran 5.00 km in 22:04, averaging 4:24/km. She placed 634th of 5,624 overall, 104th female, and 39th in the female 1825 division. A notable stat: she finished ahead of every male in her tracked comparison group, with boys beat at 0. Her pacing was steady across the full distance: 4:17, 4:23, 4:33, 4:33, then a closing 4:20 final kilometre. She moved up well early, improving from 667th overall at 1 km to 622nd at 2 km, then held position consistently through 4 km before finishing close to that mark. In an evening Canary Wharf 5K known for its fast closed-road setting, that final kilometre rebound stands out. For the next race, aiming to hold the 12 km rhythm a little deeper into kilometres 3 and 4 could bring the overall average down further.
