His strongest section came early: 1 km in 5:28 and 2 km reached in 10:54 (5:27/km average), with his best overall position of 1,836 at 2 km. From 2 km onward, the pace drifted from 5:53/km to 6:11/km, then 6:45/km in the final kilometre. That pattern suggests the opening 2 km was a little ahead of sustainable 5K pace. A steadier first half could help him hold closer to that early 5:30/km rhythm deeper into the race. Run The Wharfs closed-road Canary Wharf course suits controlled pacing, and this result showed good early speed to build on.
