Quick Opening Km Set Up a Solid 5K Rachel completed the 5K in 39:50, averaging 7:58/km. She placed 356th in the female 3135 division and finished ahead of 1,935 of 5,624 runners overall. Her fastest section came early with a 6:58 first kilometre, followed by 7:16/km through 2K. In a fast evening Canary Wharf race known for its closed-road city-centre route, that gave her a strong opening half. From 3K onward, the pacing eased to 8:19, 8:39 and 8:40/km. That trend suggests the main opportunity is holding closer to her early rhythm deeper into the race. A useful target next time would be keeping the middle kilometres steadier, as the first 2K showed she had quicker pace available.
