Strong Finish Lifted the Final Kilometer Amy covered 5.00 km in 31:13, averaging 6:14/km. She placed 198th in the Female 1825 category and finished ahead of roughly 52% of the 5,624-runner field. Her pacing was steady early: 6:13/km for both the 1st and 2nd kilometers, then 6:23/km and 6:29/km through 3 km and 4 km. The key stat was the close: her 5th kilometer was 5:57/km, the fastest of the race and 32 seconds quicker than her 4th kilometer. That late acceleration shows good finishing strength, especially in a fast evening 5K through Canary Wharf. As a coachs note, the clearest gain would come from holding the 12 km rhythm deeper into the middle kilometers, which would bring the overall time down well.
